Johnny Mack: MACKnificent Mindset: "TGIF" True Greatness Is Fatherhood. Sadly the thing lacking in the Hood is a Father that is in the home. The poverty of the Hood is impacted primarily by an absence of a real male provider/protector/proactive person in the home. The lack of such an individual is cause for most if not all residence poverty in the Hood. Economic burdens are one of the main reasons families find themselves in a low income environment that is ruthless and negative. This environment perpetuates violence and poor choices. The best known cure for this disease is a loving and growing two parent family structure with a father taking an active role in not only the finances but also the rearing of children. A Father in the home will not guarantee success but it will improve chances tenfold. Young boys that have a resident Father have a role model and an example to follow. Young girls with Fathers in the home are less likely to get pregnant and or engage in promiscuous activity. No matter home you slice it the absence of the father involves the presence of danger and deteriorating conditions that limit and lessen the life experience of our youth.
