Johnny William ‘J.W.’ Tilley GLEN FORK — Johnny William “J.W.” Tilley, 77, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013, at his home following a short illness. Born Sept. 29, 1935, he was the son of the late James and Charlotte Tilley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Tilley; a brother, Waymen Tilley; a sister, Beatrice George; and two grandchildren, Rosa Lee Irick and Robert Waymen Tilley Jr. Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Robert Tilley of Ravencliff and John Tilley and wife, Amanda, of Sabine; two daughters, Gaye Irick and husband, Jackie, of Glen Fork and Debra Stapleton and husband, Doug, of Matheny; a brother, T.C. Tilley and wife, Pamela, of Virginia; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a very special nephew Jason Bailey and wife, Tressie, of Brier Creek; close family friend and neighbor, Thomas Francis; and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends. In keeping with J.W.’s wishes his body was cremated. Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 20313, at Glen Fork Community Cemetery, Glen Fork, with Rev. Ernest Francis III officiating. Burial will follow. Those wishing to attend should meet family at cemetery. Services entrusted to Adam Toler Memorial Funeral Home, Oceana.
