Johnnys day has been great (: no vomit and he has been pretty awake through the day ! Couple naps here and there but thats a normal baby thing. The doctors were hoping if they found a way to lessen the vomit then he may have more energy and so far its looking that way (: he has been a very active boy the last couple days. We worked on some tummy time, side time, talking and head control. He got a bath (he is a true boy ... Stinks alllllll the time lol). Changed out his cannula and tender strips. He stayed off oxygen for two hours.. When I take the tender strips off I monitor him and let his face have time to heal before putting new strips on .. As long as he can handle the no oxygen support . He did great and even after the two hours he was fine but there is no need to be greedy. A few have asked where he is exactly at development wise, age adjusted and how early he was born... Johnny was born the day he turned 24 weeks and weighed 15 oz. 10 inches. In two days he dropped to 11 oz . With being born four months early, already small and with him losing even more weight .. His head shrunk.. The doctors were very nervous with that along with on the fourth day we lost him for 30 minutes. He had no oxygen to the brain for 30 minutes and was pumped full of fluids just to try and revive him. . With all that added together they were very unsure of where he would be development wise ... he is doing far better than expected. He is considered 3 months adjusted. No matter the preemie.. Whether born 5 months early or 3 weeks early it was expressed to me that all preemies are concidered 3 months behind their actual age ... Once he is seen multiple times after discharge they start to really pin point where the baby is.. Is he/she truly 3 months behind or are they further behind or even ahead. Johnny has went through many tests/exams and they said he is right where he needs to be. He is not further behind and he is not ahead. He is literally where most preemie babies start off.. 3 months adjusted for age. Which is awesome because he was born four months early and he isnt truly four months behind. His therapists though have expressed to me that this information .. What he has learned .. Is through very short amounts of time due to him ALWAYS sleeping.. So they told me they believe he will thrive as soon as he isnt sleeping like a new born any more and has time to be awake and learn. They dont believe he will be behind for a long period of time and that they said if I continue to work with him after he catches up that he could even find his way ahead of the pact :) which I find totally amazing (: there are things that can pop up within the first two years that no one can control or see through cat scans, x rays or MRIs but so far with all the tests and developmental exams everything is looking really good! .. I dont mention a lot towards our private lives .. Mostly just Johnny, his medical issues and the story behind how he was born but Johnny does have two older brothers. Johnnys dad has an 8 year old (Aden) and a 4 year old (Kingston). We all joke about how Johnny is so light skinned compared to everyone and how he some what resembles his brothers in a way but mostly through expressions. I see many facial expressions from Aden and Kingston when Johnny tries to talk and move around. I figured I would post a few pictures of the boys and the family so you can see for your self (: Im big Into genetics , I think its very fascinating :) Thank you all for the continued prayers and love and I hope you all have a great day !
