Join DPD in congratulating Lt. Marianne Bond who was recently named North Carolina Law Enforcement Women’s Association (NCLEWA), “Woman of the Year” for the year 2014. Lt. Bond, who is currently the assistant commander of District 2, was presented the award during NCLEWA’s annual conference, September 11, at Charlotte’s Crowne Plaza venue. For her invaluable contributions to NCLEWA, Lt. Bond also received the prestigious President’s Award for her “long-standing service and dedication” to NCLEWA. Since 2005 Marianne Bond has been an active member of NCLEWA and currently serves as Secretary. Excerpts from her nomination state, “From the time she began her career with the Durham Police Department, Marianne Bond has distinguished herself as multi-talented, highly motivated and dedicated law enforcement professional…Her skills and achievements are paramount in the law enforcement arena. In her present role as District 2Assistant Commander, she provides outstanding service to her constituents, and is a valued member of our Durham Police Department family.”
