Join Mr. Nqaba Nqandela, the Administrator of LGSETA, for a road show. The Local Government Sector Education and Training Authority (LGSETA) was established in terms of the Skills Development Act of 1998. The LGSETA was placed under Administration on the 20th of March 2013, following serious governance and management failures. These same failures have seen the LGSETA as adding less value to its clients (Municipalities) and stakeholders, for whose sole benefit it exists. The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Mr Mduduzi Comfort Manana will deliver the keynote address at the Western Cape Roadshow. The Political and Administrative leadership of municipalities as well as other stakeholders of the SETA will attend the Roadshow. This is one of the initiative we believe will strengthen the engagement and subsequent partnerships with our stakeholders. This will also make a success of the repositioning of the LGSETA. Part of the mandate of the Administrator, Mr. Nqaba Nqandela, is to strengthen the LGSETA and to make it more relevant and responsive to the skills needs of the local government sector. This implies a complete repositioning of the organisation, reviewing everything from the strategic areas of focus, the policies and procedures, the systems and processes, and everything about the organization.
