Join activists and grassroots leaders from the Global South to protest and march in front of the World Bank at 11am on October 11th. It’s the World versus the Bank! 30 years ago activists in India’s Narmada Valley led a decade-long struggle against a disastrous mega-dam funded by the World Bank. Mass movements in Brazil and Indonesia protested against the destruction of virgin forests and the forced eviction of hundreds of thousands of indigenous peoples to make way for Bank-funded roads and dams. These movements helped win critical protections enshrined in the World Bank “Safeguard Policies.” These protections are now under severe threat. Join with us to defend these protections on October 11! Bring your friends, family, and plenty of noisemakers to turn up the volume and demand an end to World Bank policies that put profits above people and the planet. ow.ly/CzvVH
