Join the UTB Master Chorale! The University Master Chorale is open to all UTB students by audition, regardless of major. The Master Chorale will perform a diverse selection of music throughout the year, including a “Classical Elements” concert this fall that will feature pieces related to earth, wind, fire, and water. Students with previous choral experience are encouraged to sign up for an audition time; the sign-up sheet will be posted outside Eidman Hall, Room 112, on Monday, August 18 by 10:00am. Auditions will take place the first day of class, Monday August 25, from 1:00-4:30pm. Each pain-free audition will consist of: 1) an informal conversation 2) a brief vocal warm-up 3) singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow or “My Country, tis of Thee” 4) a sight-reading exercise. Master Chorale rehearsals are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:00pm-2:20pm. If accepted into the Chorale, students must register for the course (MUEN 1161). Prospective female singers should encourage prospective male singers to audition with them! UTB Voice Majors should report to the first Master Chorale rehearsal on Wednesday, August 27th. You do not need to sign up for an audition slot at this time.
