Join the island-apps challenge and win a tropical Island in Goa/India! Open-Island is a growing floating island, based on a modular concept of recycled low-tech palette-floats. The Sealand Multiversity started the ongoing asap-island project in 2012 to raise awareness on climate change and sealevel rise. The goal is to develop a full range of open-source DIY-solutions for sustainable floating habitats. The island-apps challenge adresses Makers, Environmentalists, Geeks of all kinds to assemble and cocreate ideas, manuals, designs of helpful applications on palette-floats that can be attached to the Open-Island for testing, improving and sharing open-source. This year, we have workshops going on in India, Brazil and Germany.
