In this lecture Bo Reimer, Professor of Media and Communication Studies at the School of Arts and Communication at Malmö University, Malmö, Sweden, questions the traditional media researcher role. It is one of analyzing and observing from a distance. It is also the one of working alone. However, in a contemporary media landscape characterized by increasing participation and collaboration – a landscape within which people no longer are only consumers but also media producers – the possibilities have opened up for another media researcher role; a role characterized by collaboration, by co-production and by interventions in everyday life.
