Join us at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust this Sunday, November 23rd, for two events. At 2 p.m., Dr. Avraham Perlmutter will be speaking about his autobiography for a Meet the Author Survivor Talk. His autobiography, Determined: The Story of Holocaust Survivor, highlights his story of hope, survival, and loss. He will be signing copies of his book after he shares his incredible story of survival. at 3:30 p.m, LAMOTH will have its Inaugural Young Pianist Showcase Recital. In association with the LAUSD City-wide read of the critically acclaimed book, The Children of Willesden Lane, music students committed to Holocaust commemoration will perform on LAMOTHs historic Blϋthner Piano. Written by Mona Golabek and Lee Cohen, The Children of Willesden Lane (revealed in artifact-form in a current exhibit at the Museum) chronicles the extraordinary life of Monas mother and Holocaust Survivor, Lisa Jura. This Sunday, the very piano pieces taught to Lisa by her mother before the war will be performed by a new generation of students moved by Lisas inspiring story.
