Join us for an important Banned Play on Thursday, Nov. 13 at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. The Walls by Argentinean playwright Griselda Gambaro addresses relevant themes of state sponsored terrorism, fear, and oppressive regimes. The play takes place in a cell-like room where a young man is held without knowledge of his crime. We connect this play to the many people held in detention centers across the US, state surveillance and covert operations, and use of language to manipulate public sentiment. This play reading is part of the programming for the Covert Operations exhibition at SMoCA. Wine, public reading, dialogue, and music! Seating is first come, first serve. No RSVP!
