Join us for our AES Membership Meeting on Saturday, May 17th at 11:30 AM. Our guest speaker will be David Mickelson - “Wisconsin’s Glacial Landscapes”. 12,000 years ago the land we now call Wisconsin was strikingly alien place – sculpted by a colossal continental glacier and still rebounding from its retreat, a variety of unique landscape features emerged. Join your AES friends and learn about these glacial landscapes from David M. Mickelson, Emeritus Professor of Geoscience, Geological Engineering, and Water Resources Management at UW-Madison. Professor Mickelson will share his insights about how glaciers shaped Wisconsin’s landforms and how we can track this amazing story by hiking Wisconsin’s Ice Age Trail. The remnants of the Ice Age are easily accessible along a thousand miles of trails – including segments in Dane County – and they form the backdrop for the early peopling of Wisconsin. ancientearthworks.org/events/upcoming-aes-events/
