Ethan Knight is an accomplished Assistant United States Attorney, known for being a smart, even keeled, and great trial lawyer. Ethan was the lead prosecutor in U.S. v. Mohamud, where he successfully persuaded a jury to convict the defendant of attempting to bomb the Christmas tree lighting at Pioneer Courthouse Square. Ethan has also prosecuted other high profile cases including U.S. v. Harold Nicholson, et al., a case of a former CIA agent convicted of espionage who used his son to contact the Russian government. Ethan will talk specifically about the Mohamud and Nicholson cases, and will address the challenges of prosecuting national security and terrorism cases in criminal court, including the issues of classified evidence, foreign governments, and complex statutory schemes.
