Join us tomorrow night, Thursday, January 16th, for the monthly meeting of the Capital District Java Developers Network (CDJDN). Michael Redlich, a Senior Research Technician from Clinton, NJ will be providing an introduction to MongoDB. MongoDB (its name derived from “humongous”) is an open-source, document-oriented, NoSQL database that provides high performance, high availability, and automatic scaling. It has become the leader in non-relational databases as Fortune 500 companies have been migrating to MongoDB among others. This presentation will introduce MongoDB, provide a brief overview, how to get started, create and maintain a working database, and, if time allows, a brief introduction to the Spring Data MongoDB project. People will start gathering around 5:30 for food and networking. The presentation should start about 6:00. Food and Beverages are provided.
