Join us via Google Hangout for another VA Partnerships Showcase series. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is hosting a “Partnerships Showcase” series on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. This event will showcase three public-private partnership (P3) presentations on how VA is working to reduce and address homelessness among our Veterans and their families. Ms. Sandy Beahm, Coordinator of the Healthcare for Homeless Veterans Program at VA Butler Healthcare, and Mr. Anthony Love, Director of Community Engagement for VHA Homeless Programs, are VA subject matter experts who will highlight successful P3s between VA and a non-governmental organization (NGO). -VA Partnerships Showcase 2 at 12:00pm (EST): In this showcase, Sandy will discuss a partnership at VA Butler Healthcare that operates in Western and Central Pennsylvania. This partnership provides quick placement of homeless Veterans in a safe, secure and stable living environment while facilitating access to VA and community services for long range solutions. -VA Partnerships Showcase 3 at 1:30pm (EST): For this showcase Anthony will highlight a partnership that he currently maintains in the VHA Homeless Programs Office. Since 2012, this P3 with a national organization helps Veterans by expediting the move into housing while also serving to fill that critical transitional gap. Anthony will walk through the chronology of the partnership from initiation and how it was formalized, to current day. -VA Partnerships Showcase 4 at 3:00pm (EST): This showcase will feature Anthony as he explains the details of a VA partnership with a local non-governmental organization (NGO) in Philadelphia. This NGO, also a grant recipient, provides services to Veterans who are chronically homeless and/or experiencing mental health issues. The VA and NGO also partnered to implement an outreach initiative to identify Veterans with these special needs in the Philadelphia area.
