Joined leaders across Sonoma County to officially open the Highway 101/Airport Boulevard interchange. I’m proud to have supported this important project that will provide our region with long-term economic benefits by improving access to our business park and to the airport. Our country needs to keep investing in projects like this one because every $1 billion we invest in infrastructure creates more than 30,000 jobs. That’s why it makes no sense that the House Majority passed a short-term patch to the Highway Trust Fund that kicks the can down the road for a few months. This isn’t good enough. We need a long-term funding bill that gives businesses certainty so they can start projects without the fear that the money they depend on will run out.
