Joint project of Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Charity Fund of Petro Poroshenko and “Wings of Phoenix” Country Support Foundation is moving forward steadily. Historical reference: 1) Service of the rear of General Staff provided 50 kungs (shelters) for building cleaning stations. Military repair brigade is performing their restoration and brings them to operation. 2) Charity Fund of Petro Poroshenko is paying for the acquisition of professional washing and drying machines produced by Whirlpool. 3) Charity Fund “Wings of Phoenix” is acquiring water tanks, generators, waterpumps, tubes and organizes the installation of the whole system. At the end we get 50 autonomous washing kungs which are planned to be installed in check points and in the temporary locations of the soldiers. It’s fast and convenient: you wash, you dry and then iron. As of January 7: - first 10 kungs were repaired in Ozerny base - 20 sets of washing-drying machines were acquired and shipped (8 sets went to Dnepropetrovsk to 80th and 81st Airborne Brigades) - From January 12 the installation is started so we will get ready systems by end of the week The budget of repair and equipment of one kung (excluding washing-drying machines) now stands at 43 000 – 45 000 UAH. And why is this cost not paid by MoD from its huge budget? The reason is very simple: according to normatives, taking shower is to be guaranteed once per 7 days, washing/ drying services are provided only in the places of permanent location. Until we manage to change the normatives, we will see start finding Pediculus corporis in the army, that’s rare shit so better to avoid it.
