Jokes apart, I think that this election season has been the most decisive one in the history of India. The fact that BJP won with a full majority proves that the essence of India as a nation remains. People kept aside their caste, religion and regional prejudices and voted keeping in mind the countrys progress. This is what Hindutva is all about! I am glad to see the end of dynasty politics (although the Congress hates to admit it and are still shielding the Gandhis ) and the end of a pseudo- secular reign. This also hints at the strong undercurrent that was present against minority appeasement politics..I had high hopes from AAP which were destroyed thanks to the stubborn nature of Kejriwal and his unstable governance but I believe that their dramatic entry into Indian politics had a significant impact. It is because of AAP that the Indian citizen became politically aware and started questioning. They might not have succeeded with respect to good governance or making wise decisions but they definitely hold the power to keep the ruling parties in check. I hope they shift their focus more on development of the country instead of creating news and indulging in political mudslinging..and yes, they need to realize that there is more to the country than just Northern India. One cannot win the hearts of people merely by showing others in bad light. It was interesting to note that throughout his campaign, Modi did not say anything against AAP nor adopted a hypocritical stance and this probably worked in his favour. BJP has a huge responsibility now in terms of striving towards a progressive nation with inclusive growth and development! I admire their core stance of nationalism and the fact that they do not care to appease minorities. They will definitely have to work hard to prove that the fear of minority communities getting butchered under BJP reign is an unfounded one..Hope Modi proves his mettle now at a national level!
