Jonah 2:9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord. To run away from the Lord and the tasks He has given you to do is not a good thing! Jonah found out the hard way that living for the Lord, but yet doing your own thing will get you in big trouble. God has a plan for each of us, and that plan is part of His bigger plan, so it is necessary and would behoove us to obey His voice when He speaks to us! Jonah finally realized his predicament was out of his control, so like us when troubles overtake us and we begin to lose hope, we turn to the Lord who has been there the whole time! No matter how life is, whether we are on top of the mountain and everything is rosy or if we are surrounded by seaweed, treading water in a whales belly, God is still God and we are still His child! We need to thank Him whatever situation we are in, for His grace at the very hour that we call upon Him! Do you have an up and down relationship with God? Do you call on Him, only when life is going bad? Well, we need to have a consistent and solid relationship with the Lord, acknowledging Him as our Savior in the good time as well as the bad!
