Jonathan Stensland Lets, see...there is a delicacy in the way these elephants touch these bones that suggest some relevance; perhaps they have a sense of shared history...the experience seems to bring them even closer together...every animal in the herd shares a lineage that stretches back numberless generations. And there is a deep beauty I find in the earthen crown that one of these queens is wearing...we understand that elephants speek a deep, long-wavelength language that can carry infrasound through the earth for miles, a sound too deep for human hearing. They speak a language we cant even hear, but that they can hear. If that is not at least a hugely humbling reality, maybe Disney can think of another reason...but do we really need more reasons for paying our own deep respects?
