Jonathan’s Aide Warned Over Interfering In A/Ibom Politics Bernard Tolani Dada — April 24, 2014 The Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned the special adviser to the president on Political Affairs, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, to desist from interfering in the affairs of the state. The party, in a communiqué issued on Tuesday night after its executive committee meeting in Uyo, condemned the “ignoble and contemptuous role of Alhaji Gulak, who visited the state recently and threw all known protocol overboard in purporting to inaugurate a sectional and unknown Support Group in favour of our dear president, without bothering to pay any courtesy to the state leadership of the party.” The communiqué, which was read by the state chairman of the party, Obong Paul Ekpo, advised President Jonathan to “caution his aides, who are bent on causing disaffection in various states of the federation, purporting to act on behalf of the Villa and further advised Alhaji Gulak to “sort out PDP problems in Adamawa and deliver the state to the President before rushing to safe territories like the South-South Nigeria where President Jonathan requires no campaign.” The party “unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the President on his pivotal roles and the transformational agenda in Nigeria and urged him to contest the 2015 Presidential election.” It also “passed a vote of confidence on all members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of PDP and the national chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, for restoring the confidence of Nigerians in our great party.”
