Jordan book 2014 AFC Women’s Asian Cup berth Jordan claimed the final ticket to the 2014 AFC Women’s Asian Cup finals with a 4-0 victory over Uzbekistan on Sunday that saw them top qualifying Group A with a 100% record. Both Jordan and Uzbekistan went into Sunday’s showdown at the Amman International Stadium with two-wins-out-of two but with Masahiko Okiyama’s side having been more prolific than the Central Asians a draw would have been sufficient for the Group A hosts. After a goalless first-half Jordan moved up a gear and two goals in the space of two minutes from Sama’a Khraisat (57th) and Shahnaz Jebreen (59th) put the home side in control of the contest by the hour mark. Skipper Stephanie Al Naber, who bagged four in Jordan’s epic 21-0 win over Kuwait, made it 3-0 in the 75th minute before Khraisat sealed the win with ten minutes left to play. Jordan will join fellow qualifiers Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar, who topped Groups B, C and D respectively, and defending champions Australia, Japan, China and Korea Republic in the 2014 finals which will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from May 14 to 25 next year.
