Jordon Mutch set to shed Cardiff City super-sub tag and claim - TopicsExpress

Jordon Mutch set to shed Cardiff City super-sub tag and claim starting spot against Chelsea Jordon Mutch is mobbed after scoring the winning goal against Fulham If there is one man not welcoming the forthcoming international break then it must be Cardiff City’s Jordon Mutch. The 21-year-old could not have done much more recently to force himself into the thoughts of Bluebirds manager Malky Mackay. With a two week absence of club football now, Mutch can only hope that when the next Cardiff game does roll into view, a mouth-watering trip to Chelsea, that the message he has sent to his manager is still firmly at the forefront of Mackay’s thoughts. From the moment Cardiff embarked on their first Premier League season in more than half a century, Mackay has naturally made a big point of outlining how important every member of his squad is going to be to him this term. From the very start players who have been left disappointed as each starting XI has been announced have been assured that nothing is set in stone and that indeed every shirt is up for grabs. But, in truth, it is never quite as easy as that. When you factor in the very good start the Bluebirds have made to their Premier League campaign it can prove difficult to sway a manager quite understandably loathe to fiddle with a side serving him so well on the pitch. Mutch though, a £1m signing from Birmingham in June 2012, has, more than any other player at the club, made himself a serious contender to make the breakthrough.
