Jose Mourinho has complete faith in whichever striker he chooses to replace the suspended Diego Costa for tomorrow’s match against Tottenham. Speaking ahead of our fourth London derby of the season, following victories against Arsenal, Crystal Palace and QPR, the manager also confirmed he has no fresh injury concerns. Asked to assess his options up front, Mourinho explained why the fact Diego Costa won’t be able to play tomorrow night is of no worry to him. ‘It doesn’t affect us,’ he said. ‘We trust Loic Remy and Didier Drogba the same way we trust Diego Costa ‘This is not our way of work, so forget Diego. We trust the other two and we go with one of the other two.’ At Sunderland on Saturday we dropped league points for only the third time this season but the manager reported the mood at the training ground has not shifted in the slightest since that draw on Wearside. ‘The reaction has been normal. What do you want the team to do or to feel when the team is doing the perfect season? ‘We’re top of the league in the Premier League, top of the group in the Champions League and in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup. We’ve not lost one match for four months. The team has to feel very, very good. ‘When the defeat arrives we have to feel exactly the same way,’ he continued. ‘We are doing things very well and when a bad result arrives it is not going to change our self-belief or our self-esteem.’ During the conference Mourinho responded to a question about Petr Cech’s future by saying the club had received no offers for the goalkeeper. He also looked ahead to the busy festive period, with tomorrow’s match with Tottenham the first of eight in December. ‘My way of making it easier is just to think what we are giving to the people. If you think in that direction - not just in England but through TV - what we are giving to football fans all around the world it is what they want and they don’t have. ‘We can think it’s very difficult for all of us but at the same time we are special because we are giving to the people something they love, which is football.’ It is nearly 25 years since Tottenham left Stamford Bridge with three points but that does not matter, according to Mourinho, as he looks to guide his team to another home victory this season. ‘I don’t know the record, I don’t think it’s important and I don’t speak to the players about it because it’s not important,’ he stressed. ‘It’s a big game, a London derby, against one of the top teams in the league - we like it. That’s what we have to think about. ‘They’re a difficult team that we have to play against. We have to think it’s a difficult match and we have to be ready for it.’
