Joseph Mangadi wrote : The coming of the BNL has been hailed as a big step forward in taking Azania basketball forward. It has been argued that its success will rub off to other spheres of bball including BSA its affiliates. My view is that it will take another ten years before this comes to fruition depending on how seriously we take BSA. To demonstrate my point, the BSA AGM will be held in 2 weeks time, the question is how many Province and associate members have held their General Council meetings to discuss this? This past weekend two provinces scheduled these meetings but they did not materialise due to lack of attendance, while there has not been a word on the others provinces. One can therefore conclude that provinces, who are the main members of BSA, are dysfunctional. It might seem a minor irritation what the above means is that ILLEGITIMATE provinces will meet in two weeks time to conduct ILLEGITIMATE elections. As I have argued numerous times this is obvious Governance concept seems to escape Azania basketball. As mentioned by Aggrey Ofula ACCOUNTABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY are areas which have dodged our sport but for some reason we seem not grasp what this actually means, as result we do not know how to address this. Previous BSA execs have ignored building legitimate structures and this was their biggest weakness cause with weak members no body can hold you accountable. I therefore plead with all basketball administrators and coaches to use the next two weeks wisely by calling on your BSA provincial and associate delegates to account and to give them proper mandates for the AGM. If this does not happen then do not be surprised by my continued irritating moaning about Governance and structuring. We
