Josh Kaufman won the sixth season of NBCs The Voice on Tuesday night. The artist, who belonged to Ushers team, took the fan vote over the runner-up, Team Blake Sheltons Jake Worthington. Christina Grimmie, a member of Adam Levines team, finished third. After the results were announced by host Carson Daly, Josh said, I cant even talk. Im overwhelmed, Im surprised, Im happy. Josh, who has a wife and three kids, receives a recording contract. All three finalists were also awarded a Kia car. This was the first Voice season that did not end with an artist from Adam or Blakes teams winning the competition. The two-hour finale was heavy on musical performances. Each of the finalists teamed up with an established act. Josh joined Robin Thicke on his new song, Get Her Back, an ode to his estranged wife, actress Paula Patton. Jake teamed up with Alabama for their hit, Mountain Music. And Ed Sheeran, a former Voice adviser, welcomed Christina onto the stage for “All of the Stars.” Josh, Jake and Christina also presented a bring back performance, in which they invited previously-eliminated contestants to return to the stage. Josh joined forces with T.J. Wilkins, Stevie Joe and Sisaundra Lewis for Am I Wrong, by Nico & Vinz. Jake enlisted Kat Perkins, Kristen Merlin, Audra McLaughlin, Ryan Whyte Maloney and Morgan Wallen for Kenny Chesneys Summertime. And Christina brought back Tess Boyer, Bria Kelly and Jake Barker for a rendition of Lordes Team. We also saw Stevie Joe, Jake Barker, Morgan Wallen, Delvin Choice and Patrick Thomson perform Hall & Oates Shes Gone. Tess Boyer, Deja Hall, Dani Moz, Madilyn Paige and Melissa Jiménez tackled Rihannas Umbrella. Aside from his collaboration with Christina, Ed Sheeran performed Sing solo; Coldplay played A Sky Full of Stars; OneRepublic presented Love Runs Out; Tim McGraw sang City Lights; and Justin Moore delivered a live take on Lettin The Night Roll. Several artists from the current season of The Voice, as well as a few contestants from past seasons, will go on tour this summer. Check out the lineup and tour dates at NBCTheVoiceTour. Adam and Blake took a moment during Tuesday nights broadcast to say goodbye to their fellow coaches, Usher and Shakira. The latter two will be replaced by Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani for the fall season.
