Josh Levin started private lessons with me at age 5. I took him on - TopicsExpress

Josh Levin started private lessons with me at age 5. I took him on his first outdoor climb, the 5.8+ slab route at Indian Rock, when he was 7. He had a burning passion for climbing, and earned his first USA speed-climbing national championship at age 9, in the Under-11 age group. That year he took 12th in difficulty as well. He became the most decorated youth climber in USA Climbing history, winning 19 titles in bouldering, speed, and difficulty categories, and qualifying for the National team 30 times. Please feel free to check out this article about this awesome 19-year-old! When he was 10, I became too ill to continue as his coach, and he moved on to other awesome coaches: Albert Nugue, Jess McCauley, and Scot Jenerik! Today, he competes as a professional climber, but even with all his success he never forgot his first coach! He climbed in the Mt. Everest Climb-a-thon every single year as he was growing up! I extend a special thanks to his parents, Carrie Josefsberg Levin and Richard Levin, for helping keep our friendship together!
