Josh Phillips, Business Intermediary Mike Schwantes and I recently attended the EAA and had the chance to speak candidly with many aviation manufacturers and suppliers of aviation related products and services. It was impressive to hear the latest demands of aviation new business, much coming from eastern Asia. With that, we talked with several U.S. firms who had been contacted by a Chinese business buyer in the past with no avail to a deal. These firms found the task daunting and time consuming to end up at a dead end. Fast forward another few years, and the demand for Asia to acquire aviation companies remains the same, but with a bit of a twist. The difference this time is many U.S. aviation firms are employing intermediaries with Chinese experience. Now the Chinese are changing their ways to adapt to American business, and deals are coming together. Qualified intermediaries, some of whom speak fluent Mandarin, are able to bridge the culture gap and guide the firms in the right direction on price, timeline, and, most importantly, confidentiality. Creative recently has been engaged to work for such large U.S. aviation firms. With our guidance and the help of the Mandarin speaking attorney on our team, we are now in the driver’s seat for our clients. We are in great position to launch the acquisition process with several aviation manufacturers and service companies to Chinese buyers.
