Joshuas iPad was stolen. :( It was the only iPad we have purchased. (Jacobs iPad and Calebs and Bennys iPad Minis were perks from Williams job.) The last time any of us saw it was yesterday afternoon, when several students and a dad picking up his son saw it being used. At around 5:45 pm, Joshua asked for the van keys, as he so often does since we bought a new van, because he wanted to sit in the back with the door open while waiting on Grandma to pick him up for the ballet. He apparently left his iPad in the van, as we have now been told it was stolen. At 9:30 pm last night, there was an attempt to change the password on both the email and the ipad, itself. There was some type of security breech because upwards of 6 passwords were attempted at various times. Apple has told us this means it was stolen. They suggested we file a police report with the serial number to see if it shows up at a pawn shop, but now that we have locked it, they say it will likely just be trashed. :( It had all of Joshuas videos, photos, and apps that he has spent so many hours creating. It also has his journal that he has written pages in each night for over a year. He is devastated. It bothers me to think that someone walked up to our van in our driveway and stole an iPad, even though I know an iPad is not a necessity in life (FAR from it.) Joshua has written Im sorry notes for the past hour, and he asked William to go to Kroger so he could spend his $10.00 from 3 Tooth Fairy visits to buy our favorites, strawberries and dark chocolate. But this isnt his fault. This is the fault of another human being who thought it was appropriate to steal. Joshuas life will go on without an iPad. Maybe the person who took it will do something nice for someone some day. I hope so.
