Journal Entry - 27Jun13 PTSD: Before the class, I was one of those who honestly believed Soldiers who stayed on the FOB during the whole deployment and have never gone outside the wire shouldn’t have PTSD. But after my SGL gave the example of that Soldier who sat inside the FOB all through deployment and just mentally stressed over that one potential round dropping in from above I realized I was wrong. We all think differently, have different stressors and have different levels of resiliency. Who am I to judge or make assumptions on how others should and might feel? I need to open myself up to different options, thoughts and ideas in order to be more understanding of my Soldiers. That will help me become a better leader. We watched this video in class and it was the first time I heard about this fantastic program. Thank you for all the civilian support of our troops. https://youtube/watch?v=6kibZ5mPI8s
