Journal – Sir Edward – Day One A fierce battle, it was. The hordes descended on us like rain from a powerful storm. My arms grow tired and I pray we can keep the defenses strong. Three comrades already not accounted for. Lady Brittany befalls a terrible curse. With blurry vision, one does not want a warrior swinging the sword at close range. I wish her well. Another comrade, Sir Matthew of Astigolf; was injured in a prior battle. His stories told by Bards. Lastly, a great warrior, Knight Terrell is gone on a quest, towards the land out West. I only hope to see his return swiftly, as I do not see the masses letting up soon. I arrived and witnessed the battle, already in progress. Duchess Susanne placed me with Lady Michelle to defend the rear of the castle. An archer of skill and sharp tongue, Lady Michelle and I have fought many battles before. The creatures descended on us quick and fiercely. At one time I felt despair, but the Lords of Wineburg, Jeffery and Brett assisted me in my battles. Our defense held strong. At one time, King Cheesman arose out of the chamber to vanquish creatures dwelling around the campground of Tabla Twenti Siix. His sword rose high and with swift action, along with the help of Lady Tava and Sir Scott; the creatures retreated only to be replaced with more masses. Is there no end to this battle!? I can only hope that with continuing deeds, bravery of those around me, and defenses being held high in the towers and below in the dungeon; that we overcome this darkness. Towards the end of the night, the sounds of battle dwindled. Lady Michelle and I scouted out for any remaining creatures to vanquish. But, rumbling grew louder, not from the grounds of our location; but the depths of my belly. In the battles, I not only grew tired, but hungry. I retreated to the back, only to see my fellow comrades enjoying a feast. Sir Thomas, Cleric of the Holy Lands was the first to descend on the gifts. I bit my tongue in hopes the Gods don’t strike me down, where I stand. Even my long friend, Lady Michelle was enjoying the riches. Alas, my jealousy was of no importance. Our week is still long and we must stand together with strength or the horde will overtake our defenses and the castle will fall. This, we must not let happen! We must fight, sword with sword, shield with shield; like the Grecian Spartans! We must hold the defenses, because tonight a creature of great power will lay upon us with fire and destruction. Saturdaz, Dragon of the lost Mist!
