Journalism and Mass Communications Department invites you to attend a guest lecture on “Ten Critical Moments in American Journalism History” Speaker: Mark Neuzil, PhD., is a professor of communication and journalism and interim vice president for mission at University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Date: November 26, 2014, Wednesday Time: 15.00 p.m. Venue: 321 Bio: Mark Neuzil, PhD., is a professor of communication and journalism and interim vice president for mission at University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn., where he teaches environmental communication, multimedia reporting, communication history, and communication ethics. He spent fifteen years as a newspaper and wire service reporter and editor with such organizations as the Associated Press, the Star Tribune of Minneapolis-St. Paul, the Cedar Rapids Gazette, and the Ames Daily Tribune, and is a freelance writer for magazines on environmental subjects. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and his master’s and doctoral degrees at the University of Minnesota. His books include: Mass Media and Environmental Conflict: Americas Green Crusades (Sage) and The Environment and the Press: From Adventure Writing to Advocacy (Northwestern University Press). He has experience advising media companies in Armenia. He and Professor Freedman are co-editors of a forthcoming book about environmental crises in Central Asia.
