Journey log: Day 83&84. We walked 140.46 miles. Yesterday we made it to Cartagena Spain. We are back on the boat today. We ran into some for real Gypsies on the road in to town. They looked like they were ready for business (if you know what I mean) so we didnt stop to talk to them. Even the kids looked liked theyd beat us up. The 1984 movie Romance and the Stone was supposed to be set here. I loved that movie as a child so I was channeling the spirit of young Kathleen Turner all day. I walked at a 20 degree backward tilt and popped my shoulder from side to side to simulate her lengthy stride and spoke with a broken Russian accent and everything. Mom got tired of it real fast and took my phone off me so I would stop, but it didn’t work. This place is so gorgeous. All of Spain has been and I can’t help but be amazed every day. Cartagena is known for its beaches. I had the girls pose for a few shots and they found a fan who followed them. He loved Americans. I had to tell him, with my accent, that we were Russian actresses so he’d go away. We got talked into goin on a volcano mud tour by Aunt Peggie Jayne Carroll. A jeep took us to the run off/pooled area where we were supposed to soak up the nutrients and healing property of the natural mud. 40 women. In bathing suites. In a mud pit. There is no describing it. I dont have to…… I have photos. The mud makes it impossible to decipher who is who. A blessing I promise you.
