Joy-Givers (Part One) I was looking up words in the - TopicsExpress

Joy-Givers (Part One) I was looking up words in the dictionary to try and find the perfect word for what I wanted to share with you today. Today’s topic is not an easy one to share. I pray that you will see my heart and at the end share my conviction. God is so good, He desires to see you become a woman of influence. Now, Lets begin with open hearts, a ready mind as we explore what an “Exemplary Woman” really is. Now, before you get all upset and assume I’m going to tell you what to wear and what not to wear, please allow me to finish its definition: “Refuses to take the credit.” Another word that goes well with this one is: “Self-effacing, not claiming attention to ones self.” or “Unpretentious- not attempting to impress others with an appearance of greater importance, or talent.” She is humble. “To be desired or approved of” “Concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior and the goodness or badness of human character.” (looking well to the things of other) I guess we could look up many words that describe “Exemplary” but, I will stop there. Did you take into consideration the meaning to these words? Read them again… “takes no credit”, “approved of”… To be a woman of such beauty and grace, seems to be an unreachable goal. Maybe so, but it’s not a bad goal either. God created you, you are His creation. You may have the right to choose, but you also have a duty to serve the Lord with your life; if you have given your heart to Him. When you look at the woman that God would have you be, what do you see? Have you ever thought of this? If not, I challenge you to try it. I know we all have so many different backgrounds and personalities, so for me to say what works best for you would be foolish of me. God knows you best and desires to see you become “That woman.” If you are like me, you are anything but gracious, as far as the mobil skills go, or maybe the meek, as far as my laugh is concerned. But, I am no actually talking about that. Every woman has the ability to become a woman of grace and meekness. She is also a woman full of wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. If your friend asked you: “How was your bible reading this week?” “Did you really take time to talk to the Lord this week?” Would you be offended, ashamed, or embarrassed to have to answer this (very convicting and humbling) question? Or, would you be able to answer with honesty that you had done just that. In order to “represent the best of its kind”, you have to show forth the effort in taking the necessary steps. (bible, prayer) Lets take this sentence and change it around a bit: “Representing the best for my Lord.” What better “Kind” to represent than our Lord. When I think of this I automatically think how unworthy I am to represent such a Holy and righteous God. I am a christian though and whether I think I have a choice or not, it is my honor and privilege to represent the Lord. We represent with our actions, our words, outward appearance and our overall testimony. Sometimes it’s not just the outward that people see, it’s the inside. Have you ever looked at someone and thought, “Her heart is so beautiful, I wish i could be as happy as she appears.” I know I have. Don’t let this thought discourage you though, instead tell yourself next: “Lord, Please help me become a woman that makes other women want to be more like you.” So, how do you become this? Besides your daily walk with the Lord in your bible reading and prayer time, I encourage you as I have before to ask for the Holy Spirits guidance in your daily walk with Him. Before you begin each day make it your goal to ask Him to guide your thoughts, your decisions, actions, words and reactions. Becoming one with the Spirit will allow the Lord to do a mighty work in your heart. Your eagerness to give yourself to the Lord and really get to know His voice will change more than you will ever know. Can you imagine being this kind of woman? I sure can. It will take devotion and loyalty. Although faith may not be our greatest strength, God is much greater than our weakness. I pray that you will seek the Lord tonight or this week and pray for His direction in your life as He shows you the woman He would have you to be. The question is, will you really be up for the challenge or are you going to live as you please?
