Joy Singleton Jackson, Wilbert Ferdinand Jr you would get a Kick - TopicsExpress

Joy Singleton Jackson, Wilbert Ferdinand Jr you would get a Kick out of this since your sons like mine want to be in the sneaker aka shoe game. My son bought shoes (Christmas KDs) at Christmas(with his Christmas money) and then traded them about a month ago for some Jordan air force retro deals (I have no idea if this is right). We were mad but then a good friend said that it was a trade up ($120 shoes for $220). Yesterday he traded those AirForces for the weekend for some Mutombo vintage deals (like a test drive). I couldnt believe it- they didnt look like a good trade to me! But we were visiting my brother at the W hotel and evidently there is some huge national sneaker event in Va this weekend. Nick saw one of the most well known customizers Kiskasso and went over to him (and his entourage) and they checked his shoes out FIRST then proceeded to shake hands and dap and all that. When we were eating dinner one of them came over and delivered a card. Nick was beyond thrilled and in 7th heaven My brother is longtime Jordan shoe collector and verified that Nicks temporary trade was another trade up. the Mutombos are worth about $299 - $350. Insane yes! But I have put out NO MONEY!!! Yes he complains that we dont get him shoes (Santa bought him a pair 2 years ago and my brother gave him a few pair) but now we see that there is some business acumen that he is showing/gaining since he has to use his own shoes and $$ to get what he wants. ADVICE: Let them learn the value of the shoes and yes they can be resold on ebay. Nick may not have alot of shoes now --He kept reselling/trading them since his feet kept growing. But he has sold on ebay (once for $160) to buy others. So there is a decent resale value on some of the shoes. BTW we are not going to SneakerCon. LOL!
