Juba River Port officials on training on Cargo Handling & Maintenance in Mombasa, Kenya/ジュバ港管理組合スタッフに対する荷役とメンテナンスの訓練をモンバサで実施中! Seven trainees from JRPA, the Juba River Port Administration of South Sudan, are currently receiving a training on cargo handling and maintenance in Bandari College, Mombasa, Kenya. This training is being conducted under the Project for Enhancement of Operation and Management Capacity of Inland Waterway in South Sudan (*) which started in 2011. Mr. Santo Chok Ngor is the team leader of the 7 trainees. He belongs to the Operation and Maintenance Department of JRPA. We used to see him organizing port operations in Juba River Port before the eruption of the on-going conflict. In this training, he is proving himself as the team leader. He is always taking the initiative in all aspect of training such as cargo handling equipment operation, study of equipment mechanism and equipment maintenance practice. He can now operate a crane and a forklift after only a day’s training in each. Since he will be responsible for management and operation of Juba River Port, the knowledge and skill obtained in this training will be of great benefit to him. This cheerful 51-year old man talks passionately about his country. There is no doubt that he longs for peace and wants port activities in Juba River Port to begin to thrive.
