Jubilee Spending Public Money To Advertise Enhanced Security To Kenyans? So we hear Jubilee government is spending millions to advertise to Kenyans about enhanced security measures. We dont know your thoughts on this one. But lets be real. Use of public money to advertise about enhanced security is ridiculous. Kenyans dont need an advert. They dont want to hear. They want to see and feel secured. Jubilee government needs to do the following to secure the country:- 1. Like Khalwale said, jubilee should fire director of CID, director of NIS and inspector general of police and replace them with competent and professional individuals. Ole Lenku should be redeployed. 2. End corruption: corruption in immigration offices is the leading cause of insecurity. Criminals bribe immigration officers at the boarder and at nyayo house to enter into the country and/or acquire immigration documents! 3. Empower citizens to have faith in 999 emergency help line. Although the government believes 999 is working, most Kenyans we speak to dont have confidence in it. They cant call 999 when they have emergencies. Simply put, Kenyans lack faith in police. Thats why the government should first enhance public relation between citizens and police. 4. De-tribalize security apparatus. General perception among Kenyans is that critical security apparatus are in the hands of one tribe. So, instead of looking out for the interest of the nation, those in charge of security apparatus look out for the interest of their tribe. Detribalize security institutions. 5. Secure our borders. Our borders are porous. Beside corrupt immigration officers, there are no enough troops to man our borders. Instead of having army in camps eating, drinking and doing fatigue, deploy them to protect our boarders. 6. Prosecute tribal warlords who incite tribal hatred and conflict. Jubilee government hasnt shown seriousness in protecting the Kenyan people. Tribal Warlords are causing chaos in north eastern, Delta region, Bungoma etc. Yet the government remains tongue-tied. Successful prosecution will deter warmongers. 7. Kenya has invested a lot in buying security apparatus which to me seems under used. We need to maximize the use of our tools and equipment such as drones, helicopters etc to offer 24/7 security in specific regions like Mombasa, etc.
