Jude 20-23 The Big Six Rev. Jonathan C. Smith Verse 20 - We must be BUILT UP in the word of God. Verse 20 - We must be PRAYED UP. Verse 21 - We must be KEEPING UP. We need to make sure we are living lives that invite the free flow of Gods blessings. Verse 21 - We should be LOOKING UP. We should live our lives in such a way that were expecting God to return at any moment. Verse 22 - We should be HELPING THEM UP. Verse 23 - Be careful not to get TANGLED UP. We (as believers) are a peculiar people and should not compromise our beliefs and our walk to reach the lost. Sermon Notes: - We need to be aware of false teaching. - We must remain faithful to the body of truth. - Doctrine (teaching) builds upon doctrine. When you break down on one part of doctrine, it erodes another. - God required that there be a sinless sacrifice to die for our sins. Jesus is the only one who could die in our stead. - Satan desires to plant doubt in our heart. Doubt leads to denial and denial leads to departure. - We must know the truth of Gods word to be able to detect false doctrine. - Prayer is not only about changing our circumstances. Prayer is about changing us. - God takes us through delays that He might bring about more devotion in our lives. - The only way we can make sure we are not praying amiss is to make sure we are praying in the will of God. - We as believers need to make an impact, not an impression. - Weve gotten to the point where the culture is impacting the church instead of the church impacting the culture. - What draws unbelievers is our (believers) lifestyle. They are looking to see if our walk matches our talk.
