I don’t know what’s wrong with the Internet in your house — maybe you sabotaged it in order to drive your wife insane? But it took me all of 0.40 seconds, per Google, to confirm that Zoe is a valid spelling of your dog’s name, and as far as I can tell long predates the Deschanel-via-Salinger “Zooey.” Of course in all legal systems, whoever named the beagle chooses the spelling. But that does not change the fact that you don’t know what you’re talking about and owe your wife an apology.
