For our endorsements, we weighed multiple factors, including background, experience, accomplishments, temperament and other endorsements. Judge Scott Polodna of Kissimmee has a solid record to run on. He had been a public defender and assistant county attorney, certified as an expert in local-government law, when he was appointed to the bench in 2006. He has presided over numerous criminal and civil cases since then. His endorsements in this race span the legal spectrum, from prosecutors to criminal defense lawyers, and plaintiffs lawyers to civil defense lawyers. Polodnas opponent, Gino Feliciani of Orlando, is a 23-year lawyer who has been serving as an assistant state attorney since 1997. While he also has a diverse list of endorsers, the case for voters to fire Polodna to hire him is weak. We endorse Scott Polodna.
