Judging from the interest in many of the photographs we have posted over time, there is a great deal of interest in the history of Burlington, and it also shows that many people have a wide range of knowledge about events…or have pure nostalgia as indicated by the comments about the Towers Department Store. So, we have decided to offer you something a wee bit different, a bit of a challenge so to speak, with a series of questions about Burlington. Some of the answers appear in our various books, others are laced through this Facebook page, or our Vanished Burlington Facebook page. Test your knowledge and enjoy!!! 1. Burlington elected its first mayor 100 years ago as the village evolved into a town, and while some terms were as short as one year, how many people have served as the chief magistrate of the community? 2.
