Judgment Day: Will people give account for their lives to God? If so, what purposes will judgment serve, and what will it be like? Who will be present, and what will be the basis of judgment? Will Jesus judge our thoughts, or just our deeds and words? What about secret acts that no one else knows? What must we do to prepare for judgment? Romans 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. refers to "the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ." Many passages teach there will be a day when Jesus comes again, and all who have ever lived will stand before Him to give account for their lives. The Judge on that day will be Jesus Himself, and He will reward each person according to how he has lived his life. John 12:48; He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken , the same shall judge him in the last day. Acts 1:9-11; And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld , he was taken up ; and a cloud received him out of their sight.10And while they looked stead fastly toward heaven as he went up , behold , two men stood by them in white apparel;11Which also said , Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him goin to hea Romans 2:4-11; Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:8 But unto them that are contentious , and do not obey the truth, but obey un-righteousness, indignation and wrath,9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:11 For there is no respect of persons with God. Romans 14:10-12; But why dost thou judgethy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.11For it is written , As I live , saith the Lord , every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.12So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 2 Corinthians 5:10; For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
