Judgment Vs. Correction...What is the difference. Judgement- A willing attempt to belittle somebody, or lessen their stature in comparison to yours, by weighing their sin against God and the Scriptures, while denying your own. This is essentially forcing Your view of faith, without supporting scripture, on another. This is Judging the Persons Eternal Condition (Gods Alone) and Their Sin, and is done by Judgmental, holier than though, People. Correction- Judging another persons words or actions in light of scripture, then lovingly pointing the error out in an attempt to correct the behavior and make the persons faith stronger for it. This is done with patience and liberal application of scripture. If it is not well received, the corrector takes the offense to leaders of greater faith, and eventually the offenders Pastor...Not to gossip, but to merely strengthen the walk of the offender. If the offender fails to acknowledge and correct the offense, then they are removed from fellowship, until such time as progress can be made to restore them. This is done by Faithful people, those LIVING their faith. It is done in a way that loves the person being corrected, while hating the sin, acknowledging our own imperfections before the cross in humility and love in the process. Wickedness- Hate and anger manifested in response to correction, as the offender will spew anything necessary to avert the corrector shining a light their own fault, including pointing out past events from the correctors own life, no matter how ridiculous or vile. A more frightening response would be to attempt, by gossip or slander, to discredit the corrector rather than look at and acknowledge our own sin...no matter how much scripture is thrown at us, or truth that is being spoken. This is generally done by PROFESSING Christians, or Christians in name only. This is a destructive fire that spreads quickly, and if left uncorrected will destroy everything and everyone in its path. _____ Luke 6:37 ESV, “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; Matthew 18:15-20, 15 “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. 17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. 18 Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed[f] in heaven. 19 Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” James 4:11 ESV, Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.
