Judi inquires, My sons school (a public k-8) is evaluating its current gifted model (clustering) and the other options are a one-day-per-week pullout, a full-time gifted class at each grade level or a daily subject-matter pullout. I think a full-time program would be ideal. Does anyone have any thoughts on the various models? I have a six-year-old first grader without any other exceptionalities whos done well in both a subject-matter pullout and in a clustered classroom (appx 1/3 of the students in the class, with a gifted-endorsed teacher). Im very impressed with our new principal, who convened a subcommittee of teachers and parents to discuss our options. Thanks!
