Judicial agents raided seven homes Thursday morning and arrested four persons who are accused of robbing homes and electronic stores in Guanacaste. They are suspects in more than 30 cases of robbery since March 2013 in the regions of Cañas, Tilarán, Santa Cruz, Nicoya, and Osa, said the Judicial Investigating Organization. When agents entered the seven homes they said they discovered a large amount of computers, cameras, tablets, and TV screens. They also found 2,000,000 colons in cash and a .38-caliber revolver. The raids occurred simultaneously at 6 a.m. Thursday. Officials said that all of the homes burglarized are believed to be owned by foreigners, although they were not able to specify nationalities. Most of the stores targeted were cell phone shops, and agents said that the robbers would enter through the roofs. Another two suspects were in preventative detention and will also be presented to prosecutors along with the four arrested to determine any subsequent legal action.
