Julehilsen fra Hannoveraner International :-) To the member societies and delegates of Hannoveraner International Dear delegates, dear friends and supporters of Hannoveraner International At the end of this year we would like to give you an update about some important topics special focus on the international aspects, as we have not had a meeting of Hannoveraner International this year. Merger with Rhineland The merger with the warmblood division of the Rhineland studbook (Rheinisches Pferdestammbuch) definitely was the most important topic of the year of Hannoveraner Verband. At the members meeting of the Rhineland studbook on December 1 at Wickrath Castle almost 600 members voted about the future of their studbook. 88 % were in favour of the merger with Hannoveraner Verband, which was a very clear majority. One week later the delegates of Hannoveraner Verband had to vote wether they would accept the merger from our side. 105 delegates participated including the delegates of Hannoveraner International. 86 delegates voted yes, so that there is a clear majority in favour of this historic step. There are approx 1200 breeders from the Rhineland with 2000 mares, who are affected by this merger. This important step will also have effects on the Hanoverian breeding programs outside of Germany. The plan is to continue the Rhineland studbook and its brand, which will give more options for our members. At the beginning of 2015 it will be one of our most important tasks to define and communicate the rules for the Rhineland studbook and how this relates to the Hanoverian breeding program. Finances Hannoveraner International has assets of 6130 Euro. In 2014 the Verband payment to Hannoveraner International was 2731 Euro for 585 members with 1122 mares. This, however, does not include the numbers of our daughter societies in Australia, Great Britain, New Zealand and the US. Tour Statistics 2014 In 2014 Hannoveraner Verband registered foals in 25 different countries. In addition we supported our daughter societies, so that Hanoverians got registered in 28 different countries. 480 foals (2013: 473) were registered by Hannoveraner Verband, 160 mares were newly accepted into our studbook (2014: 202) and there were 64 new members (2014: 68). Australia and Great Britain connect with VIT database The Hanoverian daughter societies in Australia and Great Britain did a major step in order to improve the quality of their studbook management. They decided to affiliate with the VIT database, which is also the database of Hannoveraner Verband. Both daughter societies should benefit from the fact, that they have access to all pedigree and performance data of Hannoveraner Verband. Of course the transitional period of such a step is always tough, but we are positive, that this will soon be overcome. Herwart von der Decken Schau 2014 This year again there were quite a few three-year-old mares at the Herwart von der Decken Show, who were presented by international breeders. These were the following mares - Han. Pr.A. Fräulein by Ampere/Desperados, owner Anna Genfors, Förslöv , Sweden. This mare was the winner of her class. - Han. Pr.A. Bambi v. Belissimo M/Sandro Hit, bred and owned by Maria Jose Alvarez Mezquirez ,Madrid, Spain. - Han. Pr.A. Duchess Ellington by Duke Ellington /Londonderry, bred and owned by Mag. Dr. Susanna Kleindienst, Wien, Österreich - Han. Pr.A. Fiderfein v. Fidertanz / De Niro, owned by HICEWA stables NV, Temse, Belgien - Han. Pr.A. Helmi by Herzensdieb/ Lauries Crusador xx, owned by Leatherdales Farms, Long Lake, USA Stallion Licensing At the main stallion licensing from October 23 – 25 there were six stallions from international breeders as follows: # 20 by De Niro/ Rotspon, owned by GDS GmbH Arnd Erben, Luxembourg, not licensed # 22 by Destano /Royal Highness, owned by Jens Peter Aggesen, Sommersted, Danmark, not licensed # 61 by Fidertanz/ De Vito, owned by Carsten Johansen, Bastad, Sweden. He was licensed, premium stallion and with 270.000 euro one of the top stallions in the auction. # 68 by Fürst Romancier/ Competent, owned by Katherine Flint, New Albany, US, not licensed # 72 by Jazz/ Ferro, bred and owned by M.J.C Maat, PT Doorn, Nederland, not licensed # 83 by Romanov Blue Hors/ Wolkentanz, owned by Johan Ifverson, Viken, Sweden, not Licensed Inspections 2015 In the beginning of January we will continue to work at the inspection schedule for 2015. We have already been in touch with some of you. If not please let us know of your plans for 2015. International meeting 2015 Please save the date: 2015 will be our turn again do have an international meeting. This will probably happen on August 4 2015, one day before the Herwart von der Decken Schau. We hope to welcome many representatives from our international Hanoverian organisation. Enhancing Hannoveraner International Hannoveraner International has lived a quiet life for the past 4 years. We should consider if we should be more proactive as a BV or if we should live as we do now. Every member of Hannoveraner International has their own goals and strategies and it works very well. Should/could Hannoveraner International do something to enhance that? Please feel free to propose suggestions and we will work with it.
