July 16th, 1557 Anne of Cleves dies at the age of forty one in her home at Chelsea Manor. She had been sent to marry Henry VIII in 1540, their marriage lasted less than six months and she was later given the title of the kings sister. She remained an independent woman after Henry died and never remarried. Mary I awarded her a funeral with full honors, befitting her previous status. She is the only one of Henrys wives to be buried in Westminster.
