July 17 – 2 Thessalonians 1:11 Faith Prompts “May he give you all the power to accomplish all the good things faith prompts you to do.” As I drive through this life – faster and ever faster – I sense Spirit-nudges. You know what I’m talking about; those thoughts or “quick desires” to do or say something most always for someone else (though at times they are pointed directly at me). God nudges me, or should I say “prompts” me to follow His will, His purpose in the moment. It might be as simply as an encouraging word, or a quick action to help another person, but it’s most often just a quiet nudge, a faith prompt. Faith prompts are those times when God is asking us to do for Him what must be done in the moment. There are times when I dismiss the faith prompt. I find other things that need to be said or done. I think myself out of them. I delay and then the moment is gone. But there are other times when I ask on God’s prompting. There are times when I actually put my faith in to action and word and the results are always amazing. Why do I forget that God has given me the power to accomplish all the good things my faith in Him prompts me to do? I forget because I don’t act. But when I do act – those times are hard to forget! Lord Jesus, I want to listen for Your Faith Promptings today. When I sense them, I want to act. I’m expecting an awesome day with You and I want to thank you in advance for it!
