July 2: Police arrested four gamblers along with Rs 3,130 stake money and playing cards from Udham Singh Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Digiana police post. As per police sources, on specific inputs, police party from Digiana police post conducted a raid in Udham Singh Nagar and arrested four gamblers along with Rs 3,130 stake money and playing cards. The accused have been identified as Dalbir Singh, son of Hardeep Singh of Gangyal, Charanjit Singh, son of Mohinder Singh of Model Town Gangyal, Chankar Singh, son of Tarsem Lal of Roop Nagar, Digiana and Amarjeet Singh, son of Raju of Vishwakarma Chowk, Digiana. A case under Gambling Act has been registered at Digiana police post and investigation started. Police party headed by incharge police post Digiana SI Ashok Bazaz made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar police station Manzoor Ahmed Kohli, SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh and SP South Rahul Malik.
