July 2014 – CrossFitter of the Month. The CrossFit Fanatics’ staff would like to congratulate our July CrossFitter of the month, Colleen Dimmitt. Im so Happy Excited and Thankful for being chosen for Julys Crossfitter of the month! WOW... where do I start? I was NEVER an athlete in school! I NEVER liked gym class! I have a Lifetime membership for Golds Gym but never got anywhere with them. I even tried a personal trainer but that didnt give me any results, only FRUSTRATION and LOTS OF WASTED MONEY!!! I tried DVD workouts, however that was hard to stay with it, with the front room furniture in the way, I lost interest. One day my daughter Alisha said, Lets challenge ourselves to something new tonight! Interesting enough....Cory Christensen at work said Hey tonight CrossFit is having an Open House BBQ WOD; you should come and bring your daughter. So, Alisha and I went for our CHALLENGE and signed up that night...APRIL 26, 2013!!!! It was the best thing we did! I LOVE IT!!!! Both my girls love it too! Its such an AWESOME FAMILY! What Phenomenal FRIENDS I have met, the great stories we have shared, the support we give to one another, we even RALLY together in our personal lives too! Its Wonderful! I find CrossFit FUN and EXCITING! Here are some rules I put together... 1. The word CANT is never used. 2. Find 1 hour a day for CrossFit. 3. Have a Positive Attitude. 4. Complete the WOD; break it down to 5 at a time. 5. Stay Focused; Drink Water! 6. NEVER GIVE UP! 7. SMILE you never know who is watching you. :) Its AMAZING to see how far Ive come. Saturday morning I did my FIRST Rope Climb. Now if I can get my 20 Box Jumps! LOL At this year’s doctors check-up, my results were way below what the average results of women my age. Im embracing 63 this year and if I can still ROCK a TWO PIECE BATHING SUIT, CrossFit must be working!!! Thank you, Dallas, Gabby, the Trainers, and FRIENDS! You have all encouraged me to go beyond my own expectations...Look at me Now! Its all POSSIBLE! Im a Fanatic!!!! Colleen is such an inspiration to all the members and coaches in the box. We constantly hear how awesome she is and how others are inspired by her each and every day. She recently has obtained new personnel records (PRs) and continues to amaze everyone with her strength and awesome smile. Thanks Colleen for your hard work and dedication and congratualtions!! ~CrossFit Fanatics’ Staff
